About UNITEN

Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) was established in 1997 by TNB (Tenaga Nasional Berhad), Malaysia's national power utility. UNITEN's mission is to produce highly skilled engineers and professionals for Malaysia's energy sector and beyond.

Campuses

Kajang Campus (UNITEN Putrajaya Campus)

The main campus in Mukim Cheras, near Kajang, Selangor. Houses the College of Engineering, College of Computing and Informatics, and Centre for Graduate Studies.

Muadzam Shah Campus

The second campus located in Muadzam Shah, Pahang, primarily for Foundation and undergraduate studies.

UNITEN graduates benefit from guaranteed internship placements with TNB and its subsidiaries. TNB funds significant research at UNITEN including smart grid technology, renewable energy, and power systems. The Power Systems Research Centre is one of Malaysia's leading energy research facilities.

UNITEN operates as Malaysia's first Smart University, integrating IoT, renewable energy systems, and smart grid technology across its campus as a living laboratory for engineering students.
